Internships

The Right2Know Campaign is a coalition of civil society organisations, launched in August 2010 in opposition to the Secrecy Bill. Today the campaign has a much broader mandate: Building a people’s movement for access to information and freedom of expression. We currently work on these focus areas…

  • Stop Secrecy! Raising public awareness of the Secrecy Bill and the National Key Points Act, political party funding, and mobilizing to ensure the public’s right to know is not undermined by any others laws or practices.

  • Info Access Now! Supporting communities and civil society organisations their struggles for information; ensuring their right to access and share information is upheld. Free information, full inclusion and fair process!

  • Media Freedom & Diversity: Promoting a media that is diverse and independent of government and corporate interference, where all people have a platform to express themselves.

  • The Right to Communicate: Ensuring everyone has access to telecommunications, including quality and affordable cell phone networks.

  • Justice for whistleblowers! R2K aims to highlight the persecution of whistleblowers and link targeted individuals to organisations that can give them advice and legal support.
